Red Rock Casino Las Vegas Walk Through - Beth Loves Vegas

Visit it. It's the perfect place if you like being in the middle of a major construction project that starts work at 6am every day and adjacent to a busy freeway! If you are coming to Vegas to gamble and party, stay on the Strip. Talk to the concierge about hiring a private car. We received turn down service with chocolates on the pillow every night. The pool area is amazing. It is definitely one of our favorites. She called the manager, who apologized and said the workmen were not supposed to start until She also said she would "make an adjustment" to my account to compensate for the problem. She asked if we were checking out the next morning, which I confirmed to be the case. There was no warning of this till midday at which point we were already gone. She should be in the casino money room, out of sight from the general public with her bad attitude. It really seemed they didn't have a clue what they were doing. Both of our rooms were very clean. Upon check-in, we were greeted by RJ BJ? They have a food court in the casino area. Hubby is a light sleeper so he was pretty annoyed. Of course, after eating such terrible food all week, Alpo on a cracker would have tasted like fine cuisine. The rooms are large, the beds are comfy and the bathrooms are great. The hotel is far from the strip, about minutes. Later that morning, I went downstairs and complained to the concierge about the noise. I use the term greeted lightly since we felt less than welcomed by her. So I had to detail all of the above to her again and she agreed to cancel the room charge for one of our two nights. It's a very long way from The Strip, surrounded by a massive construction project and freeway, and has construction work going on on the top floors that makes the place totally unbearable and the management have no regard for their customers. Please note, though, that the resort doctors pictures of the views from the rooms. Just compare the photo I took from our room with the shot from the hotel website showing a Strip View room. All things considered it really should have been for both nights. The casino is frequented mainly by local retirees, not George Clooney. It will cost about the same as a taxi anyway - and it will not stink of Febreeze and stale cigarette smoke. It is large with comfortable lounge chairs and plenty of room. Not friendly at all. My own photo of the view from our room has not been altered in any way. If you are attending a conference, beware the last day! In reality, you have to look very hard to see those rocks, as they are on the other side of the freeway. We did request a closer room on our first stay but after checking it out opted to stay in the first room we were given. First impressions count. So avoid this place as it's not what it's cracked up to be. In addition to the main circular pool there are scattered hot tubs and smaller pools as well. The resort was fully booked, but you would have never known it. The Strip views are not fabulous, just a bunch of lights. The first night the room was very hot, despite our turning the thermostat down and the fans up full blast. Two men arrived to work on the AC and while my wife and I were sitting in the room they managed to disconnect a hose and some kind of gas sprayed out into the room. The next morning we were awakened at 6. The service was great. The manager said she would make a note, speak to her colleague when she came in to work and email me about a resolution. I phoned and the noise immediately stopped, but the damage had been done as far as we were concerned. She said the other manager wouldn't be in until 2pm three hours after checkout time and she had done nothing to "make an adjustment" to my account, or even leave a note about my complaints. We always rent a car though so it was not a huge issue for us. Here is an unbiased review of the property. But eventually the AC was working again 24 hours after our arrival. But more than the problems we had once there, we actually feel slightly deceived by the way the hotel is marketed on the website. We already can't wait to go back! I told her this was entirely unacceptable. Definitely stay on the mountain side if you are a light sleeper. When we checked out, we complained again about the noise to another manager. If you've already done the strip thing and want to enjoy Vegas but away from all of the hustle and bustle and at a slower, more relaxing pace, then Red Rock is perfect. Having stayed there, I realize that some of the photos have been faked to make it look like the hotel is something that it is not. Hubby and I stayed at Red Rock in June for 3 nights and most recently at the end of September for one night. It has clearly been "photoshopped" to make the The Strip appear much closer and to mask the reality of the hotel being surrounded by a massive construction project. The resort is well away from the Strip, so, if you want peace and quiet, this is the place for you. I was there for a conference. Unlike hotels on the Strip, there are not lots of taxis waiting outside the resort's door. The service, staff, everything has been impeccable on both of our stays. First impressions count and checking in with her was definitely not a pleasure nor a highlight. What a bunch of BS…We found out that our room was not ready which was to be expected on such a busy day since there were so many weddings in Vegas that day.{/INSERTKEYS}{/PARAGRAPH} Again, I can't say enough good things about this hotel. Apparently the rooms past the pool elevators are in the "newer" wing of the hotel and we both thought that the "newer" room was slightly bigger and nicer than the older one. {PARAGRAPH}{INSERTKEYS}My wife and I were looking for a place to stay in Las Vegas that was different, and removed from the hustle and bustle of The Strip and seeing the Red Rock website, thought we had found it "Red Rock's serene surroundings", to quote the website. Similarly, the view on the website of the red rocks from which it gets its name has been manipulated. In short, if you are looking for a relaxing weekend, the Red Rock Resort is for you. At a. The spa pool was open though, and it wasn't crowded so at least we could use that. The only issues we had with the hotel was that during our first stay the pool closed early two nights in a row for a private function. So I decided to share our experience her on Trip Advisor. Honestly, she came across as very stand offish and putout. On our most recent stay; we were awoken at 5 am by construction noise. The spa is great for relaxing or working out and for a little more peace and quiet the spa pool is perfect. We didn't have any problems with the maid services on either of our stays, and hubby can be picky! We specifically left the strip early to enjoy the pool only to find it closed once we arrived back at the hotel. I had a 14th floor room with a view of the Strip. It was anything but. The red rocks are a bit of a distance away, not just outside your window as the pictures imply. The noise started up again around 9. The view is not worth the lack of sleep. I can't say enough good things about this hotel. No welcome, have a nice stay etc. The complimentary resort shuttles do not run frequently and end early in the evening. The pictures other travellers have posted are accurate. If that is your demographic, you will be in heaven. It was a grinding, buzzing noise that literally vibrated throughout the room and continued the entire day. PROS: The rooms are very nice. Despite my conversation with the manager, the next morning we were rudely awakened even earlier, 6. She also said she would send people up to fix the air-conditioning She also said she would send people up to fix the air-conditioning. Not a pleasant experience and the thought "Legionnaires Disease" immediately sprang to mind. For both of our stays we had strip view rooms on high floors but they were far away from the main elevators and it was quite a hike. Despite replying with a long, detailed account of our nightmare, I've yet to have a reply from Mr O'Gorman. Don't be fooled by the hotel's website. The conference food is atrocious, with the exception of the box lunches served on the last day.
