Jeremy Renner Conquered 'Carpool Karaoke'

It is small and somewhat quiet most of the time but I really like it. In Vegas the slots have just become a black hole for me. You don't need a car. The lowest rates are of course Sun-Thurs. I usually stay at Eldorado or Silver Legacy, just because that's where I do most of my gambling. If you don't plan to rent a car , then you'll probably want to stay in one of the casinos downtown. He thought it was way better. I have listed several web pages that are links to Reno. I imagine airfare is about the same price whether you're going to Vegas or Reno , but the accomodations in Reno are much cheaper. If you are not into renting a car and possibly going up to Tahoe, I think you might be bored very quickly. One thing that is pretty bad however, is the cigarette smoke. I am married, but my husband does not travel with me to these desitinations because he a severe gambling problem. I get them all of the time. We loved it, however Reno has declined in the gambling area since the mid 90's. Reno comps meals rooms all sorts of things. In Nevada the lowest is usuallly the Las Vegas strip , and the highest is usually Reno. I would stay downtown as someone else said at Circus because it is connected to the Legacy and Eldorado. It is Las Vegas over Reno any day of the week. I have found it worse than Vegas because primarily of the low ceilings in the casinos. I don't know if you have every read Casino Player magazine, but they list the payback percentages for slot machines every month. In Vegas you couldn't go through everything in a few days. What hotels are good? I am a Harrah's total rewards Diamond member so I tend to stay at their properties since the rooms are always comped. OMG if you go to Reno I will gurantee we'll read about you in the papers after you've killed the person who said it was better than Vegas!!!!! Off topic a little but consider a few days in laughlin. My favorite hotel is the Golden Nugget mostly for the pool area and location, but Harrahs is also nice. If you gamble , once you hit one or two different casinos , you don't usually move on anyway. Reno vs. Reno has more of a homey, laid-back, small town feel than Las Vegas does. I have no idea. I'm 57 and travel a lot on my own, too, but never feel nervous or afraid in Reno. I remember in the "olden" days in Vegas you could play for quite a while on not a great deal of money. I'm one of those who prefers Reno to Las Vegas. Now if you would rent a car , you could go on day trips that are very rewarding, such as Virginia City , Pyramid Lake , Lake Tahoe , and even Carson City. As the previous poster said, all the main downtown hotels have free shuttles from the airport when you get to the main floor of the airport, turn right towards the baggage carosels and go out the doors at the far end - that's where the shuttles stop. You should go to Reno for that reason. There are some boat tours, a few movie theatres one with full bar , and some good restaurants. If you want a place where the odds are better, there are decent prices for hotel rooms and restaurants and the drink service are pretty good, I would give it a try at least once. That bus also goes direct to the shopping mall south of town. Strictly small time. Tripadvisor staff removed this post because it did not meet Tripadvisor's forum guideline limiting each user to a single forums screen name. That is my vacation of choice, but a friend told me to try Reno. I want to shove a twenty dollar bill into a slot machine and at least be able to ususually win a little back. This is certainly something to take in mind when deciding next vacation. Thanks all for the info. Reno forums. Other casinos are scattered about the city or grouped together. Circus-Circus, the SIlver Legacy, and the El Dorado are all joined together so in the winter you have access to all of the casinos without going outside. You can sign up for an El Dorado slot card online and sign up for email offers. I don't rent a car because I get lost pretty easily on my own. One night max in Reno. If none of these fit, then three nights in Reno are one too many. I know it gets cold and snowy in winter months, so that will have a definite impact on decison. Vegas is getting obsurd - high prices, no cocktail service, nasty personnel, too many kids, I think you get the picutre. I"ve been to Vegas at least 60 times in the past 30 yrs. I go to Reno and or Lake Tahoe at least once or twice a month now and since I live in California it is a relatively easy trip for me. Log in to get trip updates and message other travelers. You don't have anything to lose to try is once and see if you like it. For some people this is a turn-off, but for a relaxing vacation it's just the way I like it. I hope that the links below can help you make a more informed decision. Sorry but I prefer Reno anyday and perfectly safe to go and stay on your own. To someone used to LV, Reno may look a little run down, but I've been going there for at least 20 years, and I love Reno. I got tired of Vegas basically because of the same reasons that you mentioned. The casino's have cheap tables in general and there seems to be little or no crime. I'm a budget-minded traveller and prefer Fitzgerald's and Circus-Circus because of their low rates and central location, but Silver Legacy, The Eldorado, and Harrah's are equally well-located and quite a bit more upscale. There are a couple of casinos a few miles away Atlantis and Peppermill that you can get to by taking the 1 bus. Watch this Topic. I just read your post in both the Reno and Las Vegas forums. You can hang by the pool on the Colorado river during the day or walk the riverwalk. I am like you in that I have been to Vegas many many times and have starting going to Reno and Lake Tahoe instead. I had been to Vegas about five times the beginning of the year. The major one is because of I was tired of shoving money into the slots and never winning much at all versus the amount I was putting in. But not in Reno,It's different. I had not been to LV before I had been to Reno, but what I loved about Reno was the ease of getting from one casino to another and there use to be these great smaller casinos Harold's Club and the Nevada Club that we enjoyed a lot. Vegas newbie to Reno. I've been to LV a couple of times, but always found it too big and too glitzy and didn't have much luck gambling, either. To recap, I love Vagas, but looking for something new. None are 5 star but none are total dumps either. All forums. Of these, several offer free shuttle service to and from the airport. It is easy to get around. I have walked by myself all around and have not had a bit of trouble myself. My husband and I use to travel to Reno 6 hr drive from our home a lot in the late 80's and early 90's. Hard to get a drink there too!!! Harrahs is a couple of blocks away. Report inappropriate content.{/INSERTKEYS}{/PARAGRAPH} As others have said it's way more laid back and friendlier. Browse forums All Browse by destination. Are prices cheaper to fly to Reno? The main downtown hotels are all within easy walking distance. Level Contributor. I find the slots in Reno are a lot looser than In Vegas. But really one casino is the same as the other. And, I, too, will be looking at the national news, where the "friend" who said Reno is better, met an untimely death! These hotels connect with each other and Circus Circus on the second floor, so at night I don't have to go outside at all. {PARAGRAPH}{INSERTKEYS}I need help. I also go by myself, I prefer Reno.
